Celebration of the St. Sargis Feast: Intercessor of Love and Youth

On January 30th the St. Sargis Day that is the equivalent of St. Valentine’s Day in Armenia, was celebrated for the second time at Lovers’ Park Yerevan. The event was held under the auspice of President of the Republic of Armenia Mr. Serzh Sargsyan.

“Tsaghkazard” Choir of Ararartian Patriarchal Diocese of Armenian Holy Apostolic Church, “Sasoon” Traditional Dance Group, and various singers, e.g. Arsen Grigoryan (Mro), Leyla Saribekyan, Ruzan Avetikyan and others were performing on open air stage in the park.

Different surprises were waiting  the park visitors; the St. Sargis Day Special greeting cards, balloons and different stationary made especially for the event where distributed to the audience  and guests of the day: a horse-rider with dress like St. Sargis .
Anahit, a 21 year old participant of the  show appreciated the organizers of the feast  pointing that thanks to  such events people will distinguish our Church and know better Armenian traditional feasts.

St. Sargis was one of those contributors who together with his son and 14 soldiers died for Christian faith. There is a legend, that St. Sargis sponsored also David of Sasoon and other Soldiers of Sasoon Region during war pole and in love.
